Kurtis for example, he smokes, drinks, and he's got about a thousand raging fan girls anyways. You know what they say, we love our flaws. It's not even the relationship option, it's just the overall character. he's the perfect example of what you see is not what you get, and then again aren't we all a bit like that? And just his overall character got to me. maybe this was contributed by him really really reminding me of a friend of mine and the relationship we have but overall he just felt more real than the others, very flawed, annoying, a *******, putting up a mask for others and letting it down for a few. gah X_XĪtton was the first that actually somewhat felt real. do you even have anyone? NWN: Hordes of The Underdark you have Valen. With Baldur's Gate 2 you have Anomen (GAWD!!! X_X), with NWN. the more I look at Bioware's RPG's the more I see this. You like honest guys who aren't running around being all heroic and unselfish. but in the end he was quite meh, too much of a boyscout for my taste :p noble man and all but anyway. (Despite Missions history, she seems quite chipper all the time for a fourteen-year-old.) I’ve been saying since I completed the game a year ago that Atton is an amazing character that Obsidian did not get to finish. Traits like that are meant for minor characters that aren’t even apart of the crew. I doubt that BioWare would have the guts to create an old woman that kicks butt, they like sexy young women who can only kick butt for so long and then becomes a damsel in distress.Īs for Atton, they wouldn’t dare make someone as odd in personality, mental screwed up with a history like his, and make him a major character. Kreia was named best character in 2005 by Gamespy. More importantly, Atton and Kreia wouldn't exist, which I think judging by a lot of KOTOR2 fans, they are the most popular characters of the first and second games. If BioWare did it instead of Obsidian, we wouldn’t have such a deep, dark story as KOTOR2 has. But thanks to LucasArts, they couldn’t put that plot in and cut out both being romance options period. Obsidian seems to be more on fair grounds with both the sexes, with women of power like Queen Talia, and had originally planned to have Atton and Mira to be bisexual characters. You also see more female/female love interests then male/male love interests. I think I’ve said this before, IMO, BioWare depicts women often as over-emotional or out of control, just over all in need of a man’s guidance because they can’t function alone or as leaders. I also feel that their characters and stories are made with the white, heterosexual male audience in mind. I don’t feel like spoiling it, PM me if you want to know that badly. I was pleasantly impressed with what they did for the pilot Jeff in Mass Effect however, with his history and story. The game play is great, but the stories and characters they make are often cliché. I just feel personally that the characters and stories they create are mediocre. *sobs*īioware, I'll give credit to the fact that they have accomplished quite a lot of things and have won their fame fairly. He's a great start for a character, it's a pity so much got cut. and I have to agree with you about Atton.Ītton could've been so much more, he was so underused it's not even funny. I keep wondering what if Bioware did it instead of Obsidian.
